I'm a web designer and musician studying in slightly cloudy Bristol. I took a winding path around the world before ending up here, living in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Dubai, France and eventually the South West of England, where I attended secondary school at Kelly College in Devon. I originally moved up to Bristol to study Accounting and Finance, but after two years of toil I decided it definitely wasn’t for me. As I had done some web design in the past and enjoyed it, I decided to point my future in that direction by starting a degree in Web Design at the University of the West of England.
I had my first taste of web design when I decided to create my own website as a place to showcase my music and photography to the world (the world being practically nobody). I spent an entire week at my computer with little sleep, fiddling to make everything perfect and pulling my hair out because of Internet Explorer, but still thoroughly enjoying the experience. Nothing has changed. My knowledge has evolved to include: XHTML, CSS, JAVA, JavaScript, Flash, PHP and MySQL.
For the past three years I have lived in the same house as graphic designers. Their work and talent has inspired me to start learning different design applications, mainly Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. This has helped me to develop my ability in digital design to a point where I feel confident that I can make almost anything look nice on the web with a bit of thought and a lot of work. Other software that I am proficient with include: Coda, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, Logic 8, Garage Band and Microsoft Excel. I am also very used to the main operating systems UNIX, Linux, OS X and Windows.
